Beyond NYC: Pianoforte Music for Four Hands at Bronxville Women's Society

Midland Music Concert Series restarts on Sat, December 4th, 2021 at 7 pm

Pianists, educators, and co-directors of the concert series, Oxana Mikhailoff and Vassily Primakov accept known each other for nearly 30 years. Sharing warm memories about their alma-mater Moscow Land Conservatory and their teacher Vera Gornostaeva, they started professional person collaboration in New York upon their arrival hither in the 1990s. The musicians continue enriching their careers past playing for the audiences in Bronxville and Sparkill, NY and touring together around the country.

Bronxville Women's Club concludes its Midland Music Series with a highly anticipated piano recital by truthful legend, incomparable Jerome Lowenthal and his student Micah McLaurin on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at 7 pm

The legendary pianist Jerome Lowenthal is well known to Bronxville Women's Club music lovers. Last year, Prof. Lowenthal shared the phase with two generations of students, Vassily Primakov and recent graduate of Juilliard Joey Chang. This time he brings another promising musician Micah McLaurin. McLaurin is a rising star of his generation who uses artistic talent and manner to challenge public perception of the 21st century "classical" musician.

With every event, Midland Music Serial takes music lovers 1 notch up in the understanding and appreciation of serious classical music. The 2020 yr will be no exception. The twelvemonth starts with a program of large Romantic Sonatas for cello and pianoforte past Chopin and Frank.

Remembered for his introspective performance in the previous season, Robert Burkhart returns to Bronxville Women'southward Club to play the cello with the remarkable pianists Oxana Mikhailoff and Vassily Primakov.

Cellist Robert Burkhart brings an "audacious" spirit by committing to the existing cello repertoire and new music. With performance credits at Alice Tully Hall, Bargemusic, Carnegie Weill Recital Hall, Merkin Hall, and The Rose Studio at Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Robert has also appeared as a soloist throughout Japan as a fellow member of the New York Symphonic Ensemble, and been featured in recital on WQXR's "Young Artist Showcase."

The pianists of loftier-acclaim, Mikhailoff and Primakov are well regarded by the critics and the public. American Tape Guide compares Primakov'southward playing to Gilels' noting that since "Gilels, how many pianists accept the right bear on?" Mikhailoff is well-known for her poetic and sensitive mode, essential for playing Chopin'south music.
